Gonzaga dismantles Creighton with ease by a score of 83-65 The Bulldogs demonstrated repeatedly that any team without the proper size and ability to defend the paint is going to get destroyed by them. They have a very simple offensive plan that uses a lot of movement and screens to get easy buckets at the rim. They put up 23 assists and fan favorite Drew Timme scored a team leading 22 points in only 27 minutes, so I expect him to be fresh for the Elite 8 matchup against USC on Tuesday in which Gonzaga is listed as 9 point favorites. UCLA pulls off impressive overtime upset of Alabama 88-78 Alabama simply couldn't shoot free throws to save themselves in this one, going only 11-25 from the stripe. A late Alex Reese 3 point shot sent the game into overtime, but it was to no avail as UCLA outscored Alabama 23-13 in the extra period. One thing to keep in mind is that Jaime Jaquez Jr. played all 45 minutes for UCLA and there might be some fatigue issues going into Tuesday's game against Michigan, where they're currently listed as 7.5 point underdogs. Houston -7.5 vs Oregon State Oregon State has played really well in this tournament, but I simply think that Houston is a top 5 team in the NCAA and will be playing their best players huge minutes, so in my estimation, Oregon State based on their play over the duration of the season should probably be closer to +8.5 here. I'll sell the points with the Cougars and take my chances. | ||||

Aaron Gordon impresses for the Nuggets in 126-102 win over the Hawks While only playing 21 minutes, Gordon posted 13 points as a +17 in a complete blowout. Paul Millsap moved to the bench and seems to be locked in to the backup center position, but that might change depending on matchups and game flow. I'm still not a huge fan of the acquisition of Gordon since h is passing abilities aren't that important on the Nuggets, but I will remain open minded about his prospects until i see enough games out of him. Blazers handle Raptors on the road 122-117 The Blazers are practically at full health right now with both C.J. McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic back (albeit on a minutes restriction), meanwhile they made a fantastic acquisition in Norman Powell from the Raptors several days ago. Meanwhile, the Raptors continue to make massive blunders by starting Aron Baynes (one of the worst players in the NBA) and only giving Chris Boucher 24 minutes in which he put up 18 points and 11 rebounds as a +3. On paper, the Raptors are practically just as good as the Blazers but they're 18-28 while the Blazers are 28-18. They need to make better decisions. Lakers acquire Andre Drummond, what to expect? Personally I think this is fool's gold, as on paper Drummond isn't better at winning NBA games than Montrezl Harrell or even Marc Gasol. That's not to say that Drummond won't become a massive beneficiary of playing with one of the greatest NBA players of all time, but in the short term I would be targeting fading the Lakers if they decide to give Drummond minutes over either Gasol or especially Harrell. I believe that some people may falsely believe that Drummond may be the spark the Lakers will need to win the championship. I still would prefer the Nets over the Lakers to win it all if the odds are at even money. Nets -11.5 vs Timberwolves James Harden is on a massive path of destruction right now, unleashing his will to prove to the world he is the true MVP this season. Furthermore, the Nets are likely to have Kyrie Irving back. It seems unlikely that LaMarcus Aldridge will play in this one, but even if he doesn't I think the Nets will take this game seriously under Harden's leadership. Knicks +4 vs Heat A really weird line in my estimation. The Heat are expected to be without their recent acquisition of Victor Oladipo, and while Julius Randle is questionable for the Knicks, they're still a #4 seed compared to the Heat at #8 and are the better team on paper, with home court advantage. When in doubt, take the points. | ||||

Good news for Harden MVP bettors Harden is back up to +900 (was +700 not long ago). I don't really understand why this is given that the Nets seem to be the clear favorites to be the #1 seed in the East, and Harden has boasted some of the most impressive lines per game of anyone in the league. | ||||
